Rabiah Khawaja

Rabiah is a Senior Associate at Cavell Leitch leading their immigration practice with a strong background in human rights advocacy. Her legal career spans across both New Zealand and Australia, where she has worked as a Solicitor at a well-known migration law firm in Melbourne, and she has recently located back to her home town of Christchurch.

Rabiah is passionate about social justice, human rights and refugee and asylum seeker issues that exist in contemporary society today.  Prior to her career as a lawyer, Rabiah worked as an Immigration Officer with the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment for over 6 years in New Zealand, where she was born and raised. This experience solidified her dedication to making a difference in the field of immigration.

Rabiah is a Committee Member on the NZLS Immigration & Refugee Law Committee, and she is looking forward to making a positive contribution to CWLA focussing on empowering women in the legal profession.
