CWLA understands that Covid-19 may have caused a loss of financial security for some of our members. CWLA is committed to providing support and has allocated funds to provide limited assistance to those members who have been financially impacted as a direct result of Covid-19.
For example, it could be that you are experiencing:
reduced hours or complete loss of work;
loss of financial support by your employer to travel to and/or attend training and education courses;
inability to pay utility bills, accommodation costs or cover grocery expenses as a result of reduced hours of work;
inability to pay for practicing certificate fees practicing;
inability to pay CWLA membership fees; and or
the need for professional CV preparation or career planning assistance.
To be eligible for a grant from the CWLA Covid-19 Assistance Fund, you need:
to hold a current practicing certificate;
be a member of CWLA; and
be directly affected by Covid-19.
To apply for a grant, please email canterburywla@gmail.com with the subject “CWLA Covid-19 Assistance Fund” and specify the amount of financial assistance you are applying for along with accompanying reasons. Each application will be assessed by the CWLA Committee and the CWLA Treasurer at their sole discretion.
